What is Bansko Nomad Fest?

Bansko Nomad Fest is a premier event bringing together digital nomads, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for 8 Days in Bansko, Bulgaria.

The festival focuses on topics and networking events relevant to digital nomads, location independent entrepreneurs and remote workers, providing a platform for thought leaders to share insights and connect with the global nomad community.

What does the event schedule look like? Is it possible to work during the week?

Bansko Nomad Fest is often described by previous attendees as an  intense experience, ranking among the best times of their lives. However, it may not be the most conducive environment for productivity.

The event features numerous parallel activities running from early mornings until late evenings, so it is recommended to keep your work commitments to a minimum during the festival. You may find time to check emails occasionally, but scheduling major projects or product launches during the event is not advised. A preliminary schedule will be released in early April, with frequent updates and changes leading up to the start of the event. If you require a focused workspace, Bansko has several coworking spaces. The town also has 4G/5G coverage, making it easy to stay connected with a local SIM ard (starting at approximately €7 for a few GB). While we do not provide Wi-Fi for attendees at our venues, slower, free Wi-Fi access points can be found in the town square and at various cafes and restaurants.

When and where is the event taking place?

Bansko Nomad Fest 2024 will be held from 23rd to 30th June 2024 at multiple locations in Bansko, Bulgaria. There are official as well as unofficial events in the lead-up as well as after the main 1-week program, so many attendees spend 2-4 weeks or more in Bansko.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Parking in Bansko is plentiful in the Summer months. Most of our events will be within walking distance of the main stage and central area. Transport is available for all events that are not within walking distance, so it is not essential that you bring a car.

What types of tickets are available?

We offer standard tickets with discounts that are higher the earlier you buy. We will also soon be launching packages including accommodation. More information will follow soon.

What should I bring to Bansko Nomad Fest?

  • Preparations to Make:

    • After registering your ticket, promptly book flights, accommodation, and transfers to avoid last-minute price hikes.
    • Prepare a 30-second introduction for networking activities: Who are you? What do you do? What do you hope to gain from Bansko Nomad Fest?
    • Consider presenting a workshop or session during the unconference slots. Be ready to pitch your idea during Monday's session planning.
    • If seeking funding, prepare for the startup pitch competition. We'll have on-site prep sessions and signups via the app.

    Two Weeks Before the Event:

    • Browse the list of available activities in the app, and reserve your spot for premium activities and lunch.

    Can I purchase tickets on-site?

    No, tickets are only available online through our website, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance to take advantage of discounts. Please note that we expect to sell out earlier than in previous years.

    Is accommodation included in the ticket price?

    Accommodation is not included in the standard ticket price. However, we have partnered with local hotels to offer discounted rates for attendees.

    Where can I find the schedule for the event?

    A detailed event schedule will be available on our website closer to the event, via our event app and provided to attendees upon check-in.

    How can I register for Bansko Nomad Fest?

    Registration can be done on our website home page at https://banskonomadfest.com. Early bird discounts and various ticket options are available at different times. Prices increase as the festival start date approaches.

    Are there networking opportunities?

    Yes, there will be dedicated networking sessions, workshops, and social events to connect with fellow attendees and speakers. The program is designed to facilitate engagement and connection.

    Can I bring a plus-one or a guest to the event?

    Guests are welcome! They will need to register separately to attend the event.

    I have dietary restrictions. Can they be accommodated?

    Please inform us of any dietary restrictions during the registration process for any meal event, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

    Will meals be provided during the event?

    Food is not included, with the exception of some events provided by sponsors. These will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and you will sign up once the festival program is finalised and the event app is released. However there are many optional food and drinks events and we always do our best to ensure special diets are catered for. There are many affordable places to eat around Bansko including provision for special diets such as vegan and gluten-free. We will be arranging special set menus and food specials that will be announced during the event.

    I'm curious about becoming a Digital Nomad but have not started on this path yet. Can I still come?

    Yes Absolutely, we welcome all those who are engaged in or interested in a nomadic lifestyle no matter what stage they are at on this journey.

    How do I get to Bansko?

    Bansko is located 97km East of Sofia, the capital city with the most flights in Bulgaria. Although driving distance is 160km. Many people fly to Sofia then take a bus or taxi. You can also hire a car and drive yourself. You will have opportunities to connect with other attendees in advance of the event to organise taxi sharing or group travel.

    Can I share accommodation with a friend?

    Yes, you can coordinate with friends to share accommodations. Please make individual reservations with the selected hotel.

    What happens if you cannot attend the event?
    There are no refunds on tickets and we do not do name changes.

    However if you cannot attend Bansko Nomad Fest 2024 then you can transfer your ticket to a future Nomad Fest event - if you message uwe@banskonomadfest.com before June 23, 2024.

    In the unlikely event that we have to cancel or restrict Bansko Nomad Fest for whatever reason (force majeure), then your tickets will be valid for the next Bansko Nomad Fest event.
